LuLus Local Food is a Virginia Limited Liability Corporation
originally started to connect family owned and operated farms
serving the Richmond area with local customers in search of fresh
food year round. Our Winter Season farm to family Co-op opened in
November of 2008 offering a full line of locally produced food to
our founding family members.
In May 2009 we opened the Summer Season with a new website that
allowed all orders to be placed on-line. The website allowed the
co-op to expand to five pick up locations strategically located
throughout the Richmond Metropolitan area. Today we are pleased to be offering a second Winter Season with a full range of the very best of Virginia food products through two licensed sites operated by The Center for Rural Culture's Goochland Farmers Market. The CRC is the 501(c)(3) non-profit parent organization of the Goochland Farmers Market.
The Goochland Farmers Market Winter Co-op Program has been designed
to serve as a solution for a local food system. The growth of this
program will allow for fundamental change to take place in how we
source food in our local communities. For this to work there is an
intricate balance to be defined between supply and demand. The
Goochland Farmers Market Winter Co-op Program provides an
innovative tool for a community to connect sustainable food sources
from local producers and growers with members of the community
seeking local food year round.
